I said, you should expect some more sourdough recipes and I have at least one ( I would have posted another, but you win some and you loose some. Betty crocker had to make a few flopped biscuits before she got the signature recipe). I also failed at getting a pic, but this is partly because they were all gone by the time i was gonna get around to taking a picture. Says something about these sweeter-side sourdough morsels. :)
SOURDOUGH cinnamon pecan rolls
Dough:
1 cup sourdough starter (fed)
1/2 cup whole milk
1 3/4 cup unbleached flour + extra for dusting your surface
1 t vanilla extract
2 T sugar
1/4 t salt
1 T butter
Filling:
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup pecans
2 T melted butter
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Combine dough ingredients. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
2. Set dough in bowl and. Cover with towel overnight.
3. The next morning roll dough out on floured surface with a rolling pin. Roll into a rectangular shape.
3. Combine filling ingredients except for the butter. Brush butter over dough and sprinkle with filling.
4. Roll lengthwise and cut into cinnamon rols.
5. Cover with towel. Let rest for 1 hour.
6. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 25 minutes. Serve warm, preferably with coffee or tea.
As I said, the ladies loved em. Next time I think I'll make a brownsugar caramel sauce to drizzle and bake 'em in. If you try this before I do let me know so we can share the joy. :)
